Powering the Global Future

Houston

Although Houston has been a foundation of American energy production for many years, the city has recently caught the startup bug that has spread throughout many cities. From solar technology to the oil industry, Houston is now a prominent place for the energy business with over 5,000 companies and a growing IT sector. This growth can be attributed to Texas's largely unregulated energy sector that is fostering innovation and job creation. Companies like Bayou City Energy are leading the way in innovative investment strategies that help startups fund ventures in the oil industry.

Join the Adam Smith Society for a reception and remarks with Bayou City Energy founder William McMullen as he addresses how a historically big-oil city is emerging as a business hub for young companies. His expertise in both energy and entrepreneurship brings a unique perspective to the discussion on Houston’s booming industries.
